Arriving at St Remy-de-Provence

On Tuesday 8 June we headed away from the southern French coast and made our way north-east about 80kms to St Remy-de-Provence. We found an excellent camping ground with ease less than 1km from the town's centre. The campsite here is great with a pool, and more importantly for me, isn't on a steep hill with an impossibly small parking spot for the campervan like the last place in La Ciotat. Nevertheless, the streets in town are very narrow and only the main roads capable of even taking a campervan so we hired a small car to go for a drive to take in the surrounds as we are truly in the Provence countryside now. Despite the GPS telling us there was a Budget hire car store in town (which turned out to be a motorbike mechanic), we eventually found the only hire car in town in what was sort of like a haberdashery store! We all settled in for a good night's sleep (especially Lachlan who ended up half out of his bed - see pic).
